Deon Blackburn DirectorAs a respected and well-known attorney in the Boland, Deon Blackburn continues to lead his team of selected professionals to new heights of achievement, focusing on a continued commitment to service excellence.
He obtained the degree BA LLB at the University of Stellenbosch in 1988 and 1990 respectively and served his articles with Fourie Basson and Veldtman in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.
He subsequently obtained a diploma in Labour Law from RAU and currently specialises in all aspects pertaining to Labour Law and Commercial Law.
Furthermore, he was contracted by organised labour to advise on all aspects relating to land matters.
Deon is a family man whose primary focus is meeting the individual needs of his clients, whilst building personal attorney-client relationships.

Adri Brand DirectorAdri Brand obtained the degrees BLC LLB (Cum Laude) and LLM from the University of Pretoria.
After completing her articles she was admitted as an attorney in 1992 and, apart from lecturing for a short period at UNISA, has since been practising as a successful litigation and commercial attorney.
Adri is also a FAMAC accredited mediator. She has gained vast experience in all aspects of litigation, drafting of commercial contracts and family law.
Adri contributes to Basson Blackburn's commitment to every new challenge in the ever-changing field of family law.
She continues to provide service in these areas of law within the firm, spesialising in family law and disputes and litigation in the building contracts industry. |

Marina Lourens Conveyancing specialist
Marina Lourens obtained her BA LLB degree from the University of Stellenbosch. After serving her articles she was admitted as an attorney in 1988.
Throughout the years Marina gained admirable experience in her field and later shared her knowledge with students, as a lecturer, before joining Basson Blackburn Inc. in 2005 as a practising attorney and conveyancer.
Marina is a dedicated and professional attorney with a conscientious approach to her work.
Heading the conveyancing department along with Linka Slabber, this professional team has proved that it is a force to be reckoned with.

Hester Blackburn Estate & Estate Advisory Specialist
Hester Blackburn obtained the degrees B Comm LLB from the University of Stellenbosch in 1987 and 1989 respectively, and LLM from UNISA in 1996. Hester started off her career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, one of the Big Five auditing firms, where she gained 18 years of relevant experience.
In 2008 she retired from the firm as senior manager and joined Basson Blackburn Inc. as head of the Estate and Estate Advisory Services division. Her reputation in the field is a testament of her capabilities. She prides herself in her work, always taking into account the human element in estate planning. The sensitive nature of the subject inevitably leads to her established ongoing relationships with most of her clients. Hester's fields of tax expertise are Estate Duty, Capital Gains Tax and Donations Tax. She further specialises in all aspects pertaining to estates and estates advisory services, including but not limited to:

Linka Slabber Conveyancing Specialist
A born and raised Paarl native, Linka matriculated at Paarl Girls' High in 1996. She joined Basson Blackburn Inc. on 1 October 1997 with humble beginnings as a collections secretary. Her ambitious nature soon grew into a desire to practice law, studying part-time through UNISA.
She commenced her articles in 1999 and obtained her LLB degree in 2007. Once Linka was admitted as an attorney on 1 August 2008, she became a professional assistant at the firm. She was subsequently also admitted as a conveyancer in 2009 and currently heads up the conveyancing department along with Marina Lourens. She is currently furthering her interests in all aspects of commercial law. Linka has proved herself to be an extremely articulate, meticulous professional, taking great pride in her work. She strives to provide the best possible service in her field of expertise, specialising in all aspects pertaining to:

Magda Nöthnagel
Magda Nöthnagel, who joined our Litigation Department in January 2010, obtained her LL.B degree at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (former UPE) in 2006. Prior to her joining our firm she completed her articles at Honey Attorneys, Cape Town and was appointed as an Associate after being admitted as an Attorney with right of appearance in the High Court in May 2008. Magda gained experience in the following areas of law:
